How it works

An answer you can check line by line.

AskCanada is an AI agent with one rule: it only answers from official government pages, and it shows you which page supports each line.

Step 1 · Split into parts

Understand

Your question is split into the parts that different programs handle.

Principles

01

Official sources only

A closed list of government domains. News, blogs and forums are never read.

02

Every claim cited

Each sentence links to the page and passage it came from.

03

Dates are shown

Citations show when the page was last modified, so you can judge how current it is.

04

Conflicts are flagged

If two official pages disagree, you see both and which one is newer.

05

Says when it doesn't know

No official answer means no answer, plus the department to contact.

06

Equal in both languages

English and French answers use sources in the same language.
